Starting university can feel overwhelming—especially when you're navigating big lecture halls, new academic expectations, or returning to study after a break. In this session, LAS students will share their experiences of managing workloads, understanding assessments, and building confidence (yes, imposter syndrome is real!).
You’ll hear honest advice on how to balance life and study, find your place in large cohorts, and access academic and well-being support early on. Whether you're a first-generation student, mature learner, or just feeling unsure, this session is here to help you feel seen and supported.

Ticketing helps us manage attendance numbers, ensure adequate resources, and provide a smoother entry process for everyone.
Often, with free events, we see a large number of ‘no shows’. This is when people get a ticket but don’t show up. To account for this, we “overbook” an event and give away more free tickets than we have space for.
Please note that having a ticket doesn't guarantee entry. We recommend you arrive early to an event you don’t want to miss out on!
During the Welcome period, all of our events are for Students only. No externals are able to attend. Any externals that turn up on the day will not be granted access to the event.
